Director of Financial Reporting

Columbia insurance company is seeking a key employee for its finance team to be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (SAAP) and statutory accounting principles (SAP).  In addition to quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory financial statements, this role will also manage reinsurance reporting, monthly internal management reports, and the technical business plan.  Will be responsible for establishing and maintaining SOX controls, interpreting accounting policies and authoritative literature, coaching and developing direct reports, etc.  Position reports to the Controller and supervises a staff of up to 5.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and 8+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience, including 3+ years in a management role.  Prior insurance industry experience required.  CPA and/or MBA preferred. Must have strong working knowledge of GAAP and SAP, ability to prioritize, and possess excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and Excel skills.

To $115K plus bonus potential.
