Financial Reporting Manager

Columbia financial services company is seeking a key employee for its finance team to be responsible for technical insurance accounting and reconciliations. This role will support the finance team in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting principles (SAP). Will also assist in the redesign and implementation of the technical accounting process, including documentation of SOX controls. Position reports to the Controller and supervises a staff of two.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and 5-7 years of accounting experience in financial close/reporting. CPA and/or MBA preferred, as is prior experience in the insurance industry. Must have strong working knowledge in general ledger systems and US GAAP accounting. Should have advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
